Delaware Technical Community College announced on April 27 that softball student-athletes Madison Fox and Brooke Widdoes were named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Batter of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for their performances during games played from April 13 to April 19. The awards were announced on April 20.

The recognition highlights the achievements of both athletes in helping their team secure important wins. Their contributions were key in Delaware Tech’s victories over Raritan Valley Community College, Lackawanna College, and County College of Morris during National Junior College Athletic Association Region 19 competition.

Fox, a sophomore catcher from Caesar Rodney High School, achieved a .647 batting average by going 11 for 17 at the plate. She recorded two doubles and one triple while playing in all six games during the week. Fox also drove in nine runs and scored six times.

Widdoes, a sophomore pitcher from Appoquinimink High School, appeared in four games as pitcher and earned a record of three wins with no losses. Over those appearances she struck out fourteen batters while allowing fourteen hits and four walks. She gave up only three earned runs across eighteen innings pitched.

Both players’ performances contributed significantly to Delaware Tech’s recent successes on the field. The college continues to recognize outstanding athletic achievement among its students.
