On Wednesday, March 26, former Cape Henlopen High School standout Jaylyn Slater’s current college team, the Delaware State Hornets, won 5-4 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Lincoln Lions.
The game took place at LU Softball Complex. This was their second matchup against the Lions this season.
The Hornets’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at DSU Softball Field against Norfolk State Spartans.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
During the week beginning Monday, Sept. 8, these former Sussex County area high school athletes will be in action.
