President Donald Trump cut his rally in New Hampshire short when he and Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Dover Air Force Base on Monday, Feb. 10 to honor two soldiers who were killed in Afghanistan Feb. 8.
Sgt. 1 Class Javier Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas, and Sgt. 1 Class Antonio Rodriguez of Las Cruces, New Mexico, were killed on when a soldier wearing an Afghan Army uniform opened fire with a machine gun.
Trump was at a rally in New Hampshire Monday night with Pence, which he ended early to visit the Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware to attend a dignified transfer of the remains of the two fallen soldiers.
Gutierrez and Rodriguez were assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at the Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
During the attack in Afghanistan, six other U.S. soldiers were injured.
