Rockwood Museum Tours
Date:
Saturday, September 17, 2022
Conceived and built by Joseph Shipley in the 1850s, the Rockwood estate was designed to reflect Shipley's love of exotic horticulture, fine arts and antiques, fashionable architecture, and English gardens. Today, the mansion and heritage garden reveal highlights of Rockwoods storied past through guided and self-guided specialty tours. Little has changed over the 120 years that Shipley and his descendants lived at Rockwood and the tours help describe its glamorous owners, diverse workforce, historic house design, and multi-generational collections from around the globe. Guided and self-guided house tours at Rockwood emphasize the magnificent mansion interiors and stories of the families that lived there. Reservations are suggested. The tour involves stairs.
