Of the 234,045 citizens living in Sussex County in 2021, 81.4% were old enough to vote, equating to 190,590 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 91,658 were male, constituting 48.1%, and 98,932 were female, making up 51.9%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Sussex County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 78.9%.
