On Tuesday, Feb. 18, former Cape Henlopen High School standout Jaylyn Slater’s current college team, the Delaware State Hornets, won 13-3 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Virginia Union Panthers.
The game took place at DSU Softball Field. This was their second matchup against the Panthers this season.
The Hornets’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at DSU Softball Field against Bucknell Bison.

Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
During the week beginning Monday, Sept. 8, these former Sussex County area high school athletes will be in action.
